A Quiet Saturday Before An Interesting Week.........

Well, all weeks have been interesting,  but this one will include more visitors from Canada.

We look forward to the arrival on Tuesday night of UFV President Mark Evered, Satwinder Bains who is the Director of the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies at UFV, and Jackie Hogan, the CFO.

And, you may have heard, Prime Minister Harper and his wife, along with Ministers Ed Fast, Bal Gosal, and Tim Uppal, and several business leaders will be in Chandigarh and area on November 7.  We hope to see Ed at least, but the itinerary now is very secret.

It seems that the press learned of the location of a luncheon for the PM at which our UFV Bhangra team was to perform, and now that event has been cancelled for security reasons.  Unfortunate!  We will have to wait and see if our dancers get another opportunity.

Back to our relaxing Saturday which started with our usual walk over to Terraced Garden for a jog.

Along the way, we met several people on their way to work.  I continue to be amazed at what can be transported on a bicycle!

This stately gentleman is one of the regulars we see in the park.  He told us today that he has been so inspired by our jogging that he has begun to walk regularly for exercise.

The rose garden was in bloom when we next went  over to UFV to meet with Gurneet and Dilmeet to go over the program for the Awards Ceremony that Team Peary will host next Saturday, November 10.

Our own version of the Academy Awards!

Back at home, our Chandigarh family decided we should order pizza for dinner.  Vegetarian, of course, with a bit of spice.

This was a change from our usual healthy dinner of rice, lentils, vegetables and roti.

And, we can't forget that we have more birthdays to celebrate in the upcoming week as well, both here and in Canada.  It is the season!
