to fabindia that is! Saturday was a girls' shopping day thanks to Dilmeet, Jeevika and a very patient driver.
We checked out Sector 17 and made a few purchases.
Prior to that, we had stopped at an enormous market in Sector 22. The selection was quite overwhelming, but we did manage to pick up a few bargains.
Everyone tells us that Delhi is the place to shop. Can't imagine it can be better than this but we hope to spend some time there before we head home.
George managed to do a bit of shopping himself this morning. He purchased bananas for breakfast from the fruit cart that comes by our street.
Continuing on with the shopping topic, yesterday we went to get India sim cards for our iPhones. We now have local phone numbers, absolutely essential to keep all of us coordinated.
This is about one half of the cluster of electronics related shops where Gurneet took us to get this done. Each shop is small but totally packed with merchandise.
We are told that Blackberries are still quite popular here. Check out the ad on YouTube called, "We are the BLACKBERRY boys 1."
This store should look familiar. Costco, right? Wrong! This is Walmart, India style.
Big box, memberships required, etc. etc.
Walmart's standard model did not suit so this is what they developed with their partner in India.
Here it is known as Best Price.
Our day ended with a wonderful dinner at the home of Gurneet's friend, Angad, a supporter of UFV India.
Thank you to everyone who has made comments or sent us emails. It is good to hear from people at home. We do get the news from the online version of The Vancouver Sun every day, but appreciate the personal notes.
